Chambers USA has shortlisted partner Jennifer Wu for its 2024 Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year award, recognizing her years-long pro bono work combatting anti-Asian violence.

Jennifer has been actively involved in the pro bono representation of victims of anti-Asian violence since 2021, when she co-authored a report for the Asian American Bar Association on the Rising Tide of Hate and Violence Against Asian Americans in New York During COVID-19. In 2022, she co-wrote a follow-up report. In the last two years, she has spent thousands of pro bono hours representing nearly every person who has died of anti-Asian violence since 2022 in New York City and their families.

Jennifer is recognized as one of the leading experts in this area and was asked to testify before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights on anti-Asian violence. She received the Pro Bono Service Award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association in 2023 and the New York Law Journal’s Diversity Initiative Award in 2022 in recognition of her pro bono work.

The winners will be announced on June 13 during the Chambers USA Awards 2024 virtual awards ceremony.
