Alicia completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her doctoral research focused on elucidating the role of secreted Wnt inhibitors in skin and hair patterning and the regenerative capacity of stem cells by generating multi-allele target-specific transgenic mouse lines. During this time, she was awarded an NIH fellowship and a stem cell training grant from the New York Department of Health. She has additional experience in neurotoxicity research and the biophysics of regeneration using planarians as developmental models. She also worked in a biotechnology startup providing end-to-end multiomics services.  She is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent agent.
