A Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone LLP team led by partners Nick Groombridge, Eric Stone, and Dan Klein has been recognized in The American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Week column as a Runner-Up for its successful representation of Amgen Inc.
The recognition highlights the team’s work representing Amgen in a patent dispute involving the company’s osteoporosis medication Evenity, which generated approximately $2.1 billion in sales last year. In a decision issued by U.S. District Chief Judge Denise Casper in the District of Massachusetts, the court granted summary judgment motions argued by Stone, Groombridge, and Klein, invalidating patents asserted by Ossifi-MAB that purported to cover the use of antibodies in combination with certain drugs to promote bone growth.
The Groombridge, Wu, Baughman and Stone team representing Amgen also included counsel Mike Milea and associates Ariella Barel, Jacob Berman, Ananya Pillutla, and Chad Rafetto.
