Kyle assists with post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and federal district courts. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent agent.

He received a Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. His doctoral research focused on characterization of a gene that causes an ultra-rare pediatric neurodegenerative disorder, using microscopy, biochemical assays, and by creating a mouse model. His postdoctoral experience comprised starting and managing a cancer biology lab for a new assistant professor at Northwestern School of Medicine that uses CRISPR and big data to better understand factors that make cancer more malignant. While at Northwestern, Kyle also received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in healthcare enterprise management and marketing and cofounded medical device and eCommerce startups. Additionally, Kyle gained experience in infectious disease and plant biology research while at Iowa State University.
