October 5, 2023 —We are pleased to announce that partners Nick Groombridge, Steven Baughman and Eric Stone have been recognized as “Litigation Stars” in the 2024 edition of Benchmark Litigation. Jennifer Wu and Megan F. Raymond have been recognized as “Future Stars” in the same edition.

Nick Groombridge is one of the nation’s leading trial lawyers, focusing exclusively on intellectual property litigation. Over the past 35 years, Nick has been lead counsel in over 150 patent cases in federal district courts, has tried dozens of bench and jury trials, and has successfully argued more than 30 cases in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Steve Baughman is a leading practitioner in handling post-grant trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Steve served as counsel for four of the PTAB’s first-day filings, including the first post-grant trial to reach a final decision, which Managing IP named a “Milestone Case of the Year.” Over the first 4+ years of trials at the PTAB, Steve amassed a 47-0 record in final written decisions on behalf of challengers, while also defending key patents on behalf of patent owners—eliminating or protecting patents linked to verdicts or market valuations totaling well over $1 billion.

Eric Stone has over 25 years of experience trying cases, in state and federal courts, in domestic and international arbitrations, and on appeal. Eric represents inventors in patent cases pertaining to biotechnology and pharmaceuticals under the HatchWaxman Act and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act.  Eric is regularly recognized for his work in patent litigation by leading publications such as Chambers USA, The Legal 500 and by IAM Patent 1000, which described him as one of The World’s Leading Patent Professionals in 2022. 

Jennifer Wu is a patent trial and appellate lawyer recognized for her “great advocacy skills at trials” and “outstanding work in cutting-edge biologics cases.” Jennifer has been widely recognized within the legal industry and the patent litigation bar for her achievements. She was named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Litigators in America list in 2023-2024 and was recognized by Chambers USA as an “Up and Coming” lawyer in the Intellectual Property: Patent (NY) category in 2022.

Megan Raymond is one of the top 50 women in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) trials, representing clients in over 90 post-grant proceedings to date. Megan also tries patent cases in federal district courts and in the International Trade Commission and argues appeals before the Federal Circuit. Megan is ranked in Chambers USA as an “Up and Coming” practitioner for Intellectual Property: Patent. She is a frequent speaker on developments in patent law and authored the latest edition of PLI’s Post-Grant Proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
